On January 15, 2026, FC Imabari held a special ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia, to celebrate the official start of its business expansion in the country. The ceremony was held with Mr. Wandi Wanandi, a shareholder of FC Imabari, member of the Santini Group Board of Directors, and Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). Mr. Wanandi joined the club as one of the new shareholders following a third-party allotment of shares on November 28, 2025. In close partnership with Mr. Wanandi, FC Imabari is now ready to accelerate its activities in Indonesia.
The ceremony was held during the signing of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between KADIN, Ehime Prefecture, and the Ehime Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. FC Imabari’s expansion was proudly introduced as a successful result of the strong relationship between Indonesia and Ehime. After speeches by President Masafumi Yano and Mr. Wanandi, a jersey-signing ceremony for the 2026 season took place, witnessed by Governor Tokihiro Nakamura of Ehime Prefecture and other guests.
The event attracted many local media outlets, showing the high level of interest in FC Imabari’s arrival in Indonesia. Together with Mr. Wanandi, FC Imabari aims to connect Japan and Indonesia through the power of football and fulfill its mission: "Contributing to World Peace."
Comment from Masafumi Yano, President of FC Imabari: "I am very happy to celebrate this day, which started from my first meeting with Mr. Wandi in the summer of 2024. Seeing the joy of so many Indonesian people here today makes me very proud.
We want to share the 'Okada Method'—our club's unique football philosophy—and adapt it to fit the Indonesian style. Our goal is to empower talented young players and help local coaches improve their skills. Beyond football training, we want to build a bridge of friendship between Indonesia and Ehime Prefecture.
Mr. Wandi and I share many big dreams. We hope to deepen the bond between our two countries and contribute to world peace through our football initiatives."
Comment from Mr. Wandi Wanandi: "I visited Imabari twice last year and was deeply inspired by the vision of Chairman Okada and President Yano. After seeing the amazing atmosphere and the bond between fans and the club at ASICS Satoyama Stadium, I decided to invest in FC Imabari.
My dream is to elevate Indonesian football together with FC Imabari. By using the Okada Method, we want to develop not only the players but also the coaching staff. I also hope to create many ways for people in Indonesia and Imabari to connect through football. Please give your support and cheers to FC Imabari!"
